I missed all the neighbours when I first shifted here. The people here are so different. Back at Khatib, everyone seems like old friends and I can just shout across the void deck to say hello. Everyone's just so friendly.. and bonded. But here, people are too shy to even look at each other. Not even a nod of acknowledgement.

But this malay family moved in opposite my house and I'm starting to like it here. Farah, the youngest daughter runs to the door whenever she hears someone opening the gate, just to say hello. And ever since then, I started to open up to them.

Was invited to their house on Hari Raya. This is the first time in so many years that I've actually visited a neighbour's house. Their house decor was so castle-like, with chimney places and stuff. Chatted, dinner-ed. Farah's mother's cooking was fantastic!

And now, we can just shout across our houses to chat, enter each other homes like it's a shared place. I'm beginning to like this place.
