Telemarketing jobs can be found if the list of people you call is nice. As in they'll reject you nicely by saying "Oh, no thanks. I'm not interested." or "It's alright, I'm not keen."
Interesting conversations can actually refresh our mentally tired minds.

Just like this:

Me: Hi, is this Ms Mohamad?

Woman: Yes.

Me: Oh hi, I'm calling to inform you that you have been shortlisted for a customer satisfaction survey by Prudential, and it will just take you about 2 minutes. Is that ok with you?

Woman: I'm sorry, I don't understand English.

Me: Oh, so you don't understand what I'm saying.

Woman: Ya. I don't understand English. Can you speak Malay instead?

Me: Erm, but I don't speak Malay. Ok, maybe it's fine. I'll just call someone else. Thanks for your time anyway.

Woman: Ok, bye.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You see, the thing is, the entire conversation was in English and there wasn't any glitch.

OK, here's another one:

Me: Hi, is this Ms Lim?

Woman: Yes, speaking.

Me: Hi, I'm calling to inform you that you have been shortlisted for a customer satisfaction survey by Prudential, and it will just take you about 2 minutes. Is that ok with you?

Woman: Actually, I'm not really available right now.

Me: Alright, so I'll take it that you aren't interested in doing the survey?

Woman: *gives an embarrassed laugh* Erm, yes actually. Not interested.

Me: Ok, then thanks for your time. Bye!

You see the problem with Singaporeans?
Why can't they just tell you the truth?
Because as a telemarketer, you'll have to persuade your customers if they say no (though I don't do that all the time).

Just this once, this middle aged woman said she's not free, so I told her maybe I'll call you back later. And she sighed soooo loudly into the phone, then said I don't wish to do the survey.
Why couldn't she have said that earlier?
Calls from banks, credit card companies, insurance companies etc can be bothersome, but it's a different person calling you each time. And just like everyone has to do his/her job, every telemarketer has to do his/hers.
And being polite doesn't hurt.

I know I'm being sexist here, but I prefer calling men to women.
Men are GENERALLY more polite than women. They're so much nicer to talk to, especially older men.
