I was watching Girls out Loud on Clicknetwork earlier on this week, and there was this episode where Ross and Wendy helped a Singaporean nerd propose to his girlfriend.
Prior to that, they interviewed a few men along Orchard Road. Every man's way of proposal is "Would you like to buy a HDB flat together?"
No flowers, no special occasion, no romantic location, maybe just a little diamond ring, and a not-so-sincere-statement.

All the women interviewed recognises this statement as the Singaporean way of proposing, and all of them will either get the guy to propose again (if they love the guy enough) or reject them straight in the face.
I mean, this question and answer will change your life quite a little. If the guy asked you with that statement, you'll be leaving away from your parents, with that one person and maybe a few little kids. And you'll be starting your own family.
So why can't men just plan the proposal a little and make it a little more special?
