The makings of cookies & cream ice cream cake

What you need:
1. A box of oreo (depending on the size of your cake)
2. Butter
3. Cookies & Cream ice cream

Steps to making your ice cream cake:

1. Take out the first two ingredients
If possible, take the butter out earlier so that it won't be too hard

2. Pound the oreos into fine bits
Leave the cream one.
(I used 30 oreos for my 20cm in diameter cake.)

3. Pour the fine pieces into a large bowl and mixed with butter
Your end result should be sticky and not flaky. However, too much butter will result in your base being too hard.
The first time I tried, I used half the cube of butter and the base was so hard, the knife couldn't go through it. Yesterday, I tried with less butter, less than 1/4 of the cube of butter. It was still hard but at least the base gave way with a little more force. So do your own judgement!

4. Spread the mixture in a cake mould or a recyclable aluminium pan
Place it in the freezer to freeze for about 2 hours.

5. Meanwhile, go get some work done

After 2 hours, go check on your oreo base.

6. Spread your cookies & cream ice cream over the base for another 2 hours
I used Haagen Dazs ice cream, cos I was lazy to make the ice cream. If you're making it for someone and wish to freeze it with all your sincerity, go google for ice cream recipes. I'm sure your loved ones will be touched!

7. Decorate your ice cream after the cake is done (:
We were making it for our grandmother's birthday and since we're all going to eat it, we added lots and lots of oreo. We love it!

We wanted to add another pint of ice cream above this oreo layer, but decided it looks good the way it is. Plus we were running out of time since we started only at 4pm.

Now the last step before everything is done.

8. Sprinkle your love and serve

Liying and Xinyun made the cake with me, but Xinyun had to leave halfway through. So the both of us did the rest and after eating the lovely cake, Liying said "Woah, I loveeeeeeeeee this to the max! I think I'm going home to make and I'll cut a slice for myself whenever I'm hungry."

This time, the cake's a success! At least the base was penetratable by the knife. And everyone gave us a thumbs up, including my grandpa who's a non cake lover. He GOBBLED it down.

Satisfaction. (: (:
