This was shown during one of my social geog lectures, to sum up the module.

Even though there's equality (somehow) amongst men and women now, women are still expected to be responsible for child care and housework. If the child's mum is working, it'll be the grandmother's responsibility to care for the child. That is if the grandparents are staying with them. If you don't have the grandparents in the same house, you'll send your child to kindergarten or something, and again, a female is caring for your child. Just like how nannies and babysitters are often females. The sad thing is, females now are still expected to know how to cook and do housework, so that their future parents-in-law won't look down on them. Why are we not given the right to be lazy?

Anyway, that's just part of what social geography is about.
There's so many take home points from that video. Like how there's the language barrier between the different generation, how the aged is being marginalised on the street and about disability.

It's quite a touching story. It made me feel like crying.
Imagine when we are all old, and our own child thinks that we are a burden, even though all you wanted was to help. You love your grandchildren so much, but they just take you for granted.

But still, I think the old lady's acting's good!
She's the one in Just for Laughs Asia.

Okay, gotta hit the sacks.
