Day 4 in Kuala Lumpur/Malacca
We didn't had anything to do this time. No last minute shopping, no eateries we wanted to try. So the first thing we did after breakfast was sleep again, then to Ancient Thai for another round of massage. This time, we tried the face massage. It wasn't what I had expected. They did mostly back and shoulder massage but still, it's good. You can totally feel your muscles relaxed after the massage.
And because Puduraya was closed, we had to lug our heavy luggages with everything we bought to the LRT AND CLIMBED STAIRS because the escalator in the LRT station isn't working. Sheesh.
We slept on the coach all the way to Malacca.
Met my parents at Tesco. Zhanrui came along too! The very first thing we did was to have our favourite assam laksa and chendol at Jonker Walk. By then, I was too famished to take pictures.
Then, we went to our boutique hotel for check in.
Because this trip was too last minute, everywhere was fully booked except this boutique hotel. Melaka Straits is Malacca's very first boutique hotel. The room's really big and the decorations were all to suit the peranakan style. But I don't think I'll ever stay there again. In that 2 nights we stayed there, my parents killed 3 cockroaches and we had to put on the bedsheets for the extra beds ourselves.
We walked to Pahlawan to purchase movie tickets. Super cheap! RM10 (S$4.20) for a movie ticket on a weekend. We got tickets for Bruce Lee at midnight, and Harry Potter the very next day.
After getting the tickets, we were deciding on where to dine for dinner. And we saw the korean bbq rooftop.

I love korean food, so we've decided to give the restaurant a try. We're always having local dishes there. Haven't been to a restaurant before. And the boss told us the restaurant is only 4 months old.
That guy's watching the TV. Broadcasting news all the way from Korea.
The waiters (Koreans) were really attentive. They refill the dishes for us when they see it empty, almost immediately.
Whenever the stove turned black, they change the metal plate. Right after I took this picture, the waiter changed the metal plate. We ordered 3 different kinds of meat and I think they changed the metal plate 5 or 6 times. Can you imagine how many plates they have to wash for the entire restaurant?
After dinner, we walked back to our hotel to bathe, then for foot massage at Phoenix.
And we went back to Pahlawan for our movie.
Day 5 in Malacca
We had our very first breakfast at Melaka Straits.
It sucks, really. There wasn't much variety to choose from, and ants were crawling all over the coffee cups. We saw them refill the coffee pot by adding water straight into it, not freshly brewed coffee. We requested for more bread and one of the waitresses had to go out to buy.
So we shopped at Aeon, went to Jonkerwalk for their weekend chinatown for yummy food, got stuck in and rain and happen to see people kissing in the car and about to have sex, bought oyster omelette back to the hotel for late night supper.
We did almost the same thing for the next day before coming back to Singapore.
Even though Malacca's not as happening as KL, I prefer Malacca more. They have really good food and I feel safer there. But one thing I really hate about is their toilets. They don't provide toilet papers in the cubicles. And the people queue cubicle by cubicle. So you can be waiting endlessly for a particular cubicle and watch the other queues move in progress.
Despite the scary streets and toilets, I love short trips to Malaysia!
