Good Old Fahioned Pancakes

My sister has been saying she wanted to have some pancakes for breakfast, so I got a recipe off all recipes.
They have a variety of recipes for pancakes, like blueberry pancakes, canadian pancakes etc, but good old fashioned pancakes caught my eyes.

I'd imagine the traditional pancake taste.
Plus I had all the ingredients needed and the steps were easy to follow!

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted

The recipe stated that this would make about 8 pancakes, but it gave me only 4 1/2.
The number of pancakes you can make is dependent on the size of your pancakes.
I made mine about 6 inches in diameter and thick, similar to MacDonald's pancake size.

All you need to do is to sift the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar into a large bowl, make a well in the center and pour the milk, egg and butter in.
Mix everything together until smooth.

Heat your pan and oil it lightly with either cooking oil or butter.
I used butter just because I like the smell of it.

The recipe said to fry the pancakes over medium heat, but I fried mine over small heat.
I'd prefer to watch the pancakes cook slowly to prevent overcooking them.
Wait for bubbles to be formed on the batter before flipping the pancake over (like the above).

And you'll achieve pancakes like this!

I had a little batter left so I used my heart-shaped mould just for fun.

There you go!
Easy and tasty pancakes for breakfast the very next day.

I hate the management for not doing something about pest control.
After so many complaints from the residents, they've decided to spray the rubbish collection point at every block once every 2 weeks or so to kill the cockroaches. Some die, but the smarter ones crawl further up the rubbish chute to escape the fumes. And INTO MY HOME.

One fine day, when my family was out, one courageous little cockroach made its way across the kitchen, across the corridor, past my bedroom and study room, and into my toilet and hid in an obscure corner (I don't know where) and has since STARTED BREEDING. I know this because there are so many baby cockroaches coming out at night! (I think it just laid its new batch of eggs because I found 2 cockroaches so small I wouldn't see them if they don't move). These baby cockroaches are so small they look like shavings from erasers.

I came home in the wee hours last night after supper with the Dumbies.
All I wanted was to wash up and go to bed quickly. Then, I saw a medium sized cockroach making its way towards the sink. My immediate reaction was to reach for the broom and smack it. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw another medium sized cockroach scampering (trying to get) out of my sight. I HAZ GOT SHARP EYES! So, instead of washing up, I went on a killing rampage.

Death count: 4

Sense of satisfaction.
And I hope I won't be punished for taking lives.

Me: Wah dad, they're introducing a new module. Field studies to Fiji!

Dad: Hahahaha and you signed up for the one to Thailand.

Me: What? I want to go for the Thailand one. But if they open up the Fiji module, I'll sign up for it if I can go.

Dad: Japan and Thailand. Hahaha.

Me: Fuji's in Japan. Fiji's a nation on its own.

Dad: Oh ya oh ya. Where is Fiji on the map?

Me: Don't know.

Dad: WHAT!!!! Study Geog and you don't know.

Me: I'm studying about rock processes and stuff. I don't study maps.

Dad: Geog students MUST know.

Me: You know where's Pedra Branca?

Dad: Island la. Owned by Malaysia.

Me: No! It's Singapore's.

Me: And it's a piece of rock. Not an island.

Dad: I know, recently acquired by Singapore only. And how I know? They say it's an island.

I don't know why people always associated geog students to map. If you don't know how to read a map, you're not a geog student. And my dad's always trying to win in these kind of discussions, only to find excuses for himself when he says the wrong things. Hahahaha.

Dad, even if I can't read the world map, I'm still a geog student.

Speaking of which, the school's changing the curriculum for geog majors. They're introducing a new level 3000 module COMPULSORY for all majors. ): I've just taken my 4th level 3000 module and I'm done with it because the field studies module makes up 2 level 3000 modules. Now I've got to take one more. If I had known, I wouldn't have taken it this sem.
And why are they only introducing the Fiji field studies now!
