Gentings Day 2

We planned to wake up at 8am for dim sum breakfast intially, but ended up leaving our room only at 10am, so we decided to skip dim sum and head straight to strawberry farm, for fear that all the good strawberries will be picked by all the early birds.

We got the 2 way cable ticket (RM12).

Couldn't stop snapping pictures of the scenery.
It was just too breath taking.

Took his breath away.

It was a little confusing when we reached the cable stop down the mountains.
There were cab drivers asking if we wanted to take a 2-way trip for RM15, saying that the shuttle will take another hour to come, and we get to visit the chocolate farm, strawberry farm and mushroom farm.
But from what I remembered from googling online, the strawberry farm and mushroom farm were of walking distance from each other, so we rejected them.

There were 2 shuttle bus services, one to Awana hotel and the other to Gentings Strawberry Park.
But the shuttle to the strawberry farm wouldn't come unless you give them a call.
It's RM2 per person for the shuttle service.
In the end, we took the cab but we asked only for a one way ride because I wanted to take the shuttle from the strawberry farm.

The cab driver brought us to the chocolate farm, which turned out to be a shop selling chocolates.
You know whenever you join tours and the tour buses will bring you to places like silk factory (in China) and when you buy, they earn a certain percentage?
Yeah, that kind of shop.
We left after making a round in the shop.

And to the strawberry farm we go!

This buggy was the reason why we chose the one way trip.
How cute is it!
We're were so lucky we chose to take the cab down instead of calling them for the shuttle service.
It was down that day.

It's free to enter the strawberry farm, and they have already picked strawberries that were for sale.
Of course, we chose to pick our own strawberries!
It was RM8 for 100g of strawberries (~10 pieces).

Not all the strawberries were nicely shaped.

My big juicy strawberry that's super red.

Hanwei's shrunken strawberry.

And a mutated one.

Strawberries with white ends.

After picking our strawberries, we went looking for the lavendar farm.
Got lost because we wandered off the pathments, and we saw pretty trees and flowers!

Lavendar farm wasn't as fun as the strawberry farm.
It was just rows and rows of purple lavendars and a little shop selling lavendar merchandise.
We left after taking a few photos and went to look for the eatery.

Our box of handpicked strawberries.

Strawberry coated chicken wings and tempura mushrooms.
So delicious I'd go back there just for these.

Hello Mr Strawberry Man

The layout of the farm is such that you'll walk through everything, including the shops and the mushroom farm, so you wouldn't miss out on anything if you were there.

At the end of the trip, we got 6 boxes of strawberry flavoured chocolate milk back because there were so good.

We tried taking the shuttle service for Awana hotel.
Had to walk to the bus stop near the strawberry farm and waited for about half an hour before the shuttle came.
Zonked out on the cable car on our way back to Gentings Highland.

Headed out for early dinner at Bubbles & Bites (again) after unloading all our stuff in our room.

400g T-bone steak!
Because it was so good, plus the pasta we had previously, we wanted to make a trip back again for the gnocchi.

A cup of hot chocolate at The Bakery to end our day.
